About the company

Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed startup building the compute infrastructure and developer platform that AI agents run on. Their products give agents fast, persistent machines built for long-running, stateful autonomous work, and pull a fragmented ecosystem of agent tooling behind a single drop-in API — hosted infrastructure in a few clicks, production-ready agents in a few lines of code. The team is small, talent-dense and deeply technical, and works together in San Francisco.

The role

You would own the core interface of the platform — the product surface developers actually touch when they stand up agent infrastructure and ship agents. This is design engineering in the full sense: you make the design decisions and you write the code that ships them, with real technical authority over frontend architecture. Motion, animation and interaction detail matter here as much as the architecture does, and the bar for craft is high.

What you'll do

  • Design and build the core UI of the platform in React, TypeScript and modern web frameworks
  • Craft pixel-perfect, responsive, accessible interfaces with exceptional attention to motion, animation and interaction design
  • Optimise frontend performance: core web vitals, bundling strategy and loading states
  • Own the key technical calls on server components, streaming, styling approach and frontend architecture
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ship production features that make complex agent workflows feel simple

Nice to have

  • Experience at an early-stage startup (seed or Series A)
  • Motion, 3D or shader work in production — WebGL, Three.js, GSAP or GLSL
  • Open-source contributions or published writing on design engineering

Tech stack

React, TypeScript, Next.js, Vite, Remix, Tailwind CSS, Motion, GSAP, WebGL, Three.js, React Three Fiber, Supabase, React Server Components, CSS, GLSL and WebGPU.
