About the company

Our client is a high-growth, VC-backed startup building audio data products that AI teams use to train their models. Engineers work closely with an in-house ML research team.

The role

This is a product-focused, backend-leaning full-stack role (about 60–70% backend) in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment. You would lead feature development, build systems that process terabytes of audio, and help customers make sense of their data. Staff-level engineers with 6+ years are very welcome.

What you'll do

  • Lead full-stack feature development with a strong backend focus
  • Build and scale systems that process terabytes of audio data
  • Collaborate with the ML research team on how data is collected and used
  • Deploy and evaluate LLM- and signal-processing-based solutions for customers
  • Mentor other engineers and set technical standards

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI/ML or audio data
  • Technical leadership or engineering management (expected at staff level)

Tech stack

Python, TypeScript and JavaScript.

Compensation & logistics

  • $180k–$250k base + competitive equity
  • On-site five days a week in San Francisco
  • Visa sponsorship available, including H-1B
  • 3+ years of experience
