About the company

Our client is a fast-moving legal-tech startup (not a healthcare company) building AI-powered tools that transform US immigration casework, working hand in hand with its internal legal team.

The role

This is a backend-leaning full-stack role owning features end to end, from backend architecture to the UI. You would sit with the internal legal team, with no product manager in between, and ship AI-powered tools that save them hours every day. You must be AI-native, and the pace is intense — 50 to 60+ hour weeks.

What you'll do

  • Own features end to end: design APIs, build database schemas and ship the React frontend
  • Sit with the internal legal team to understand their workflows and build tools for them
  • Use AI coding tools as a primary way of shipping production code
  • Build and iterate on AI-powered features on top of LLMs
  • Work with the founding team and customers on a platform serving high-stakes immigration cases

Nice to have

  • A degree from a top-20 CS program (required with under 2 years of experience)

Tech stack

Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, AWS and Docker.

Compensation & logistics

  • $140k–$250k base + competitive equity
  • On-site five days a week in Palo Alto, CA
